What Is A Treble Crochet Stitch?

Also known as a triple crochet, the treble crochet stitch is a tall stitch that works up very quickly. It’s a very basic stitch that most beginners learn after the single and double crochet stitches. Many people use this stitch for blankets or other large works due to how quickly they work up into a beautiful pattern - and we’re not even talking about funky double or triple treble stitches! Once you learn how to treble stitch, all those variations are easy to learn..

How To Do A Treble Crochet Stitch?

I like to explain treble/triple crochet like this: It’s essentially a double crochet with an extra yarn over and an extra pull through two loops.

Triple (Treble): yo twice, insert hook in indicated st, yo, pull up a loop, [yo, pull through 2 loops] 3 times.
