It’s The Time Of The Season
Before you start your new crochet creation, you have a few choices to make! If you’re in summer, you’re going to want to choose a pattern that is either a crochet crop top, crochet tank top, or a short sleeved crochet top. You’re also going to want to choose a lightweight yarn such as lace weight silk yarn or linen yarn.
If you’re crafting during winter or fall, you’re going to want to go with a warmer top, like a long sleeved crochet shirt or a shirt that can be easily layered. Thick, warm yarn is also the best bet for you - something like our worsted weight silk yarn or Mexicali Dreams Super Bulky Yarn.
How Much Yarn Do I Need For A Top?
The amount of yarn you’ll need for your crochet top will depend on the size and style of your creation. The larger the size, the more skeins, balls, or cakes you’ll need to finish your crochet top pattern. Simple crochet crop top patterns will need less yarn, whereas complicated long sleeved tops will need more yarn.
The majority of crochet tops you’ll come across will need about 3-8 skeins of yarn. Be sure to double check the pattern and your yarn stash before you start crocheting! Keep an eye on the yardage as well!
