Did you know you can use salt in your watercolor paintings? Adding salt to a wet watercolor painting is a really cool trick if you are looking to test out new textures in your painting! It’s perfect for painting crystals and geodes. Sprinkle some table salt on the section of a painting you want to have a crystalline texture, wait to dry and the salt actually lifts the color leaving you with gorgeous texture in your painting! Our DGY team member Colleen tried it out with a simple painting of a geode and spoiler alert it turned out AMAZING. This painting project is super easy but looks stunning!
